WVYFC Fall 2020 Season Information

While our game has always been tackle football and we still stand behind the game of tackle football today, at this time full contact sports are not allowed in the state of Oregon.  The league has heard from and taken into concern many inquiries from parents, coaches, and association representatives and we see the importance of offering a sport that fits within the state guidelines to get kids active and back on the field. Please see the below program changes for our Fall 2020 season ONLY at this time.

*Please keep in mind as we follow state guidelines that we must enforce these guidelines throughout our program, failure to do so could result in the cancellation of our fall 2020 season. By registering with any association in the WVYFC league you are strictly adhering to these guidelines. Failure to do so will result in removal from games/practices.  Thank you for your cooperation and support, we are excited to see these kids out on the field again!*

ALL SPECTATORS, CHEERLEADERS, COACHES, MANAGERS AND PLAYERS MUST WEAR A FACE COVERING. This is a state guideline we must follow in order to offer a fall season. Failure to comply will result in being removed from the game. This is not a WVYFC rule but again a state guideline we are required to follow, we thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Each participant will be allowed 2 SPECTATORS to attend their game.  This is to stay compliant with the 100-person maximum capacity per venue/event the state of Oregon has imposed. 

Football Players must provide their own face covering to be used at all times during practice(when athletes cannot social distance 6 feet) and games, non metal cleats and mouth guard. 
Cheerleaders must provide their own face covering to be worn during practice (when athletes cannot social distance 6ft) and at games.

*Failure of the participant to have a face covering with them will result in them being sent home*


Participants for no reason should be sent to practice or a game if they have any of the following symptoms (it is the parent and coaches responsibility to monitor this, players may not attend and 'watch' practice or a game with the following symptoms they MUST stay or be sent home)
-Cough or Fever
-Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
-Fatigue
-Have or had Covid within the last 14 days
-Has been around someone who had Covid within the last 14 days

A Covid waiver will be required to be signed by the legal parent/guardian prior to your child's first practice. While we are taking safety measures and precautions to prevent the spread of Covid-19, WVYFC is in no way responsible for, and cannot fully prevent, the contraction, exposure, and spreading of any illness while participating in our program.  At the time of registration you assume all responsibility and risk of contracting any illness or disease while participating in WVYFC (and their associations) events.  

Now the fun stuff.....

Registration Fee: $100 (all grade levels football/cheer) Registered families will be contacted. 

Practice start date: Sept 14th, 2020 DELAYED due to Holiday Farm Fire and Hazardous AQI
Games start the week of: Sept 28th, 2020
Playoffs start the week of: October 26th, 2020
Championships will be held at a local high school: November 1st, 2020

  
K-5th Grade
-Teams will be divided into three grade groups (K/1, 2/3, 4/5)
*Should your association not have a team in your grade level you may play up or play with a different association. Participants cannot play DOWN a grade.
-All participants will need to submit proof of grade/school fall enrollment to their association
-WE DO NOT NEED A PHYSICAL ON FILE FOR THE 2020 SEASON
-5v5 Flag Football
-No MPRS, It is the coaches responsibility to play all participants fairly, if you have an issue with your coach please contact your association's Coaching Coordinator or President.
-Flags and t-shirts will be provided by your association, flags will be returned to coach and disinfected after each practice/game.  Coaches will also be responsible for disinfecting footballs after each practice/game.
-Coaches will be responsible for providing a sterilized football to be changed out for every play during the games.
-Mouth guards, face coverings, non-metal cleats are required (to be provided by participants)
- Football gloves are recommended, not required.
-3 coaches maximum per team plus one team manager.


6th-12th Grade

-Team will be divided into three grade groups (6th, 7th, 8th, 9/10, 11/12)
*Should your association not have a team in your grade level you may play up or play with a different association.  Participants CANNOT play down a grade.
-All participants will need to submit proof of grade/school fall enrollment to their association
-WE DO NOT NEED A PHYSICAL ON FILE FOR THE 2020 SEASON
-7v7 Flag Football (See Rules Attached below)
-No MPRS, It is the coaches responsibility to play all participants fairly, if you have an issue with your coach please contact your associations Coaching Coordinator or President.

Cheer
-Squads will be divided into their respective grade, following the football team guidelines, as much as possible.  Grade levels may be combined to form teams (k/1, 2/3, 4/5, 6th, 7th, 8th).
-All participants will need to submit proof of grade/school fall enrollment to their association
-WE DO NOT NEED A PHYSICAL ON FILE FOR THE 2020 SEASON
-Uniforms will be provided by the associations (HBJC will be providing T-shirt, Bow, Poms)
-Face Coverings are required and to be provided by the participants.
-Cheer will be SOLELY sideline cheer.  ABSOLUTELY no tumbling/stunting/pyramids etc. 
-Cheer squads will have a maximum of 5 cheerleaders for games.
-2 coaches maximum OR 1 coach and 1 Team Manager.
